No fence is too sturdy enough or high enough to contain these three brothers, and you often have them bumbling along after you as you stride through the orchard, which is not where they live! When someone yells ‘duck’ at Merrybower, you do really need to duck, on account of the low flapping trio of flying barrels.

They came to live with us after we travelled to pick up a goose from Wales back in August 2013. We only went for a goose. We came back with the goose, five Aylesbury ducks (for someone who lived nearby) and these three clowns, who were destined for the pot. With the two children in the car, it was a crowded, and not entirely pleasant smelling, journey.

Everyone has a job to do here. The geese eat the grass, the chickens eat the bugs, the Khaki Campbells eat the slugs and snails. These three? They are the entertainment – the jesters.

    <a href='https://merrybower.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2014/06/IMG_1821-1024x768.jpg' data-rel='gallery-1' data-prev-img='https://merrybower.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2014/06/IMG_1821-448x330.jpg' class='lightbox ' data-onclick='4' title='Larry, Curly & Mo -
